The OTTs Boost their Dubbing Game (Trendsopedia)

In this era of technology and virtuality people have shifted to online streaming sites like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Sony Liv and etc. these sites have recognized the diversity of India in every notion and how reaching out to the tier 2 and tier 3 cities is as important as tier 1 and tier 2.

To up their dubbing game in India, Amazon Prime Video has got Arjun Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao to dub the Hindi version of the superheroes series The Boys 2.
Tamil movie star has lent his voice for the Tamil version of the animated movie Dhira, Disney+Hotstar has released the Tamil and Telegu version of their hit series Arya and Sony Liv has also released the Tamil version of the series Scam 1992. Even international originals like Extraction and The Jungle Book were dubbed in Indian languages.

According to industry experts dubbing of various movies and series and shows has now become very vital especially in the times of the pandemic as every citizen whether from a tier1 city or a tier 3 city has switched to an online streaming platform and the online streaming providers want to provide the same services and penetrate in the Indian market.
The Marketing Director of Amazon Prime Video Sushant Sreeram said that “the Indian audience loves localized content, content that is in their language”. Amazon Prime Video has dubbed the Korean Oscar-winning movie Parasite in Hindi. It has also started giving subtitles in local languages.

This step towards dubbing has opened a new stage for the audience in India to global shows and series and also highlighting the Indian talent on a global platform.
