Regularly, society overlooks the value of personal sacrifice.
Imagine having to work day and night. A workplace where you are not eligible to take leaves even when you are sick. After working the whole month and not having a salary day to look forward to because you do not get paid. A homemaker oversees every aspect of a household. Taking care of children, cleaning, cooking, organizing the family’s calendar of activities, and running errands for the family are all part of a homemaker’s responsibilities. The function of a homemaker, particularly, does acquire the honor it deserves. Just because the output of their work isn’t producing revenue and contributing to the GDP, they want to be underestimated or viewed down upon. A domestic keeper’s work is a crucial section of the functioning of any society. It permits the working section of society to pay attention to their profession-oriented endeavors, accordingly ensuring a functional society. Even though it’s far strenuous work and stressful, just like other occupations, it is done voluntarily with no expectation of receiving an income. Regrettably, physical coercion is still profuse in society and is hardly ever stated. However, while entering into a wedding, you consent to the work that should be done to sustain the marriage. The family must respect and support the choices made by the housewife or the house-husband and assist in any way they could to lessen their stress. Because of gender differences in the notion of family obligations, the division of family duties continues to be influenced based on gender. Whilst most people are of the perception that men and women are equal, where in fact, they play different roles in the course of their lives. It is society’s biggest stereotype that only wives can be homemakers and men can’t. Human beings seem to suppose that live-at-domestic husbands aren’t manly enough and that they are something less than their wives, which is so sexist. Society needs to keep in mind that this is a gender-impartial role wherein the staying of both the husband and the wife would not imply they are inferior to the other.
These days we also find many stay-at-home dads who are equally as capable and efficient as the other housewives. But they are criticized by society and are questioned for their open-mindedness. Like “how are you okay with your wife earning and asking for money from her”, even the family members of the husband discourage him from doing the household work and the wife from earning.
Since long back, a boy has been raised into a man to be the breadwinner of their family. The stereotype that men should not be househusbands HAS TO BE ERASED. With the wife having a well-paying job and providing for the family if the husband chooses to quit their job and wishes to become a househusband because why not, then the wife and family should equally support the decision.
If we can have an open mind and heart for every field of work that provides equal opportunities to both men and women then why not this?

It has been rightly said that people don’t get to know so many things until and unless they are shown the incidents from real-life situations. All homemakers have exponentially increased our quality of living by handling and managing the most important thing in our lives, home. With such mind-boggling content, it has now become quite evident that homemakers are the most underrated employees of the year who are unconsciously contributing to the social GDP of the country. Truly, it was really necessary to spread the awareness of such contributors, whether male or female deserves the same level of recognition and respect.
