Our motherland has given birth to men and women with nerves of steel. It has found the Love, sweat, and blood of its sons and daughters during its hour of need.

I’ll accompany you on the adventure of one of the most courageous soldiers. The life narrative of SUBEDAR YOGENDRA SINGH YADAV, a son of the soil and recipient of the PARAM VIR CHAKRA award.

Yogendra Singh Yadav is a former Indian army commissioned officer with the titles of Subedar Major and Honorary Captain. He received the Param Vir Chakra at the age of 19, making him the youngest recipient. He received it in recognition of his extraordinary bravery during the Kargil War.

Being a son of a retired Indian army soldier of the Kumaon regiment who also served in a war against Pakistan in 1965 and 1971. Inspired by his father and sibling, he had always yearned to join the Indian army. Yogendra who had a tremendous love for his motherland and a determination to serve the nation didn’t even give it a second thought and went to appear for an exam of selection he passed the test on his first attempt. He was only 16 years and 5 months old when he joined the Indian Army as a Sainik after finishing 19 months of training at the Indian Military Academy. With only 15 days since his marriage and 2.5 years of military service behind him, he reported for national duty during the Kargil War.

During capturing of Tiger hill, he was the one who took the lead to capture Tiger Hill. He crawled up to the enemy position by getting multiple bullet injuries. He continued to climb toward enemy soldiers and continued to battle until he could, and finally, he succeeded in capturing Tiger hill.

Even though he was shot 12 times in the arms and legs and once through the heart, the bullet was deflected by the Rs. 5 coins he had in his pocket.

Subhedar Yogendra Singh Yadav’s path has led us to the conclusion that he will serve as a source of inspiration for the next generation of youth since anyone can emulate his talent. As a result, he will be a hero to many young people.
